X9 RCC is a Windows .NET application for building Remotely Created Check (RCC) images (also known as Pre-Authorized Drafts, Demand Drafts or Check 21 Demand Drafts) that can be printed and/or formed into X9.37 Image Cash Letter (ICL) files. There are two primary applications for X9 RCC:

  • Creating Remotely Created Checks for presentment and deposit on behalf of a customer
  • Creating test ICL files for use in debugging your Remote Deposit Capture or other Check 21 based solution

X9 RCC is a software solution for composing Remotely Created Check images and ICL files from simple text files. The images are Check 21 compliant ready for printing and, when formed into X9.37 ICL files, contain strong fraud deterrent features.

X9 RCC uses information from authorized bill payment transactions or from test data that you supply to electronically generate check images. The images can be printed, and optionally be packaged into X9.37 Image Cash Letter (ICL) files ready for:

  • Deposit and subsequent image exchange
  • Use in Check 21/ICL application testing
  • Remotely Created Check Images and ICL files can optionally include the EPC code MICR line character and ICL file field set to 6 as required by the X9 X9.100-160-2013 standard.

X9 RCC Workflow

Remotely Created Checks can be printed immediately or deferred as required by the depository institution.
